Saturday 16 November @ Toormina High School

Help send one of our 22 teams to the National Championships by being a part of the FIRST® LEGO® League Robotics Competition and the Regional Qualifying Event in Coffs Harbour.

There are various volunteer roles available for the most exciting and innovative children’s event of the year but we are looking particularly for judges and referees. No previous experience required, just lot of enthusiasm!

This is an amazing opportunity for you to be energized, feel fulfilled, have FUN, and impact the next generation of CHANGEMAKERS.

3… 2… 1… LEGO!

What can you expect as a volunteer?

As a judge or a referee (read all role descriptions here), you will receive online training a few weeks before the event. You can choose the most convenient time for you – the video will be available on YouTube.
A few days prior to the event, we will get together so you can receive your volunteer T-shirt and ask any questions that you might have. Then on the big day, Saturday 16 November, we will start early in the morning with the opening ceremony before diving into the different competitions. It will be a day filled with a competitive spirit, fun, pizza, and LEGO. You will directly support the participants in building their leadership and problem-solving skills and, more importantly, their sense of belonging and self-confidence.

FIRST LEGO League is…

Each year, FIRST LEGO League introduces a scientific and real-world challenge on which teams can focus and research. The robotics part of the competition involves designing and programming LEGO Mindstorms robots to complete tasks. The students work out solutions to the various problems they are given and then meet for regional, national and international tournaments to compete, share their knowledge, compare ideas, and display their robots.
This year’s challenge is

CITY SHAPER

and its goal is to design and build better places to live and work for everyone.
