Cherie Topfer: HR Werx

A successful career spanning 22 years, Cherie has held key management and leadership roles within the Human Resource, Education and Real Estate industries with expertise in business strategy, project management, talent management, training and development, business operations and improvement.

Cherie is currently the owner and operator of HR Werx offering integrated human resources and people solutions. Through a values driven approach, Cherie ensures clients enjoy the services of a trusted business partner who is committed to understanding their business and supporting them with the development of their business and people strategy.

In 2013, Cherie was appointed General Manager of EQIP Gladstone Incorporated, responsible for the overall management and strategic growth of a unique partnership between Department of Education and local industry, targeting identified skills shortages and supporting successful transition from school to employment through authentic work place learning, and employability skills development.

Cherie is a Professional Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) and in 2013, was nominated for the Telstra Business Women’s Awards. Dedicated to playing an integral role in social and economic sustainability, Cherie has held non-executive and executive roles within in peak organisations and non for profit boards including; Vice President of Gladstone Chamber of Commerce, Member of Woolgoolga Chamber of Commerce, Secretary of Gladstone Rotary, Board member of Schools and Industry Network, EQIP (Gladstone), and Welcoming Intercultural Neighbours.
