MENTORS

Startup Onramp is a training and mentoring program for first-time startup founders, launched in Brisbane by experienced startup mentor and investor Colin Kinner. It gives new and aspiring founders the skills and guidance they need to launch a globally scalable tech startup. See startuponramp.com for inspiration.

6 Degrees will be delivering this program in Coffs Harbour to a cohort of 6-12 founders starting in September 2018.

The program comprises 12 weekly workshops following a logical progression from idea validation to product development, customer acquisition, investment and growth. The workshops are delivered by the Program Facilitator and supported by guest presenters from the local region (including entrepreneurs, investors and subject matter experts) who also assist with mentoring of the teams. The program culminates in a pitch night at the end of the program at which all startups present.

Guest Presenters / Mentors

To provide the best experience and outcomes for our 6 Degrees Startup Onramp participants we are seeking expressions of interest from our local business development specialists, subject matter experts, startup founders and investors.

The Program Facilitator will be delivering the core educational content, with a guest presenter or mentor called in at relevant moments to provide context, experience and insights.

The program is broken down into 12 topics and we are putting the call out to potential guest presenters or mentors who would like to provide their insights on any one of these speciality areas:

  • Startup Founder
  • Investor
  • Legal
  • PR / Marketing
  • Design / UX
  • Growth Marketing
  • Raising Money
  • Product Development
  • Startup Finance

The program will be tailored to meet the needs of the cohort and the blend of guest presenters.

Generally the expected time commitment for guest presenters will be approximately 1 hour of their time on their designated session. Sessions will be held on a weeknight between 5:30-7:30. There is also an extra optional participation where guest presenters meet individually at a later date with some of the startups for an informal mentoring discussion. This can be organised on a case-by-case basis and is optional.
